Humaa Siddiqi – Expected graduation: May 2016

Humaa plans to attend law school sometime in the near future but would like to travel somewhere abroad before that.  Humaa is currently interning for Rabya Khan, the lead attorney, at the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) office.

Humaa is president and founder of the UIC chapter of Amnesty International.  This organization focuses on human rights issues taking place in the USA and around the world

When asked about her overall thoughts about her UIC education she says, “I could not have chosen a better university to go to. UIC has allowed me to grow so much as a student and as a person. UIC provides many awesome opportunities both on-campus and off. Students simply need to reach out. My cousin, who is now a UIC alumna in medical school, was (is) a big influence on me.  She persuaded me to attend UIC. She pushed me to give it my all when I was a freshman. She pushed me to get good grades, get involved, and even apply for the Honors College. I am so grateful that she believed in me.”
