Undergraduate Research Paper Contests and Prizes Announced

The UIC Department of Political Science is pleased to announce its annual contests for outstanding research papers written by undergraduate political science major/minor students.

This year, there are four categories including:

  • The Milton Rakove Memorial Award - Two prizes will be awarded, one for the best paper on any topic in international relations, one for the best paper on any topic in urban politics.
  • The John Echols Memorial Award - One prize will be awarded to the best paper on a topic in public policy analysis or comparative politics prepared for a class this academic year.
  • The Twiley Barker Memorial Award - One or two prizes will be awarded to the best paper on a topic in constitutional law and ethics.
  • The Ron Brown Memorial Award - This award will go to the best graduating senior in Political Science. Students with outstanding academic achievement throughout their coursework and overall GPA are nominated by the Department before being considered for this prize.

Submissions should be delivered as hard-copies by 5pm on Friday, April 11th to the Political Science front office, BSB 1102.
