About

Christopher Z. Mooney is the W. Russell Arrington Professor of State Politics in the Political Science Department at UIC, with a joint appointment at the Institute of Government and Public Affairs. He studies U.S. state politics and policy, with special focus on legislative decisionmaking, morality policy, and legislative term limits, and he teaches classes in state politics and research methods. Mooney is the founding editor of the academic journal, State Politics and Policy Quarterly, as well as the co-author of one of the leading undergraduate textbooks in the field. In 2012, Mooney received the Career Achievement Award from the State Politics and Policy section of the American Political Science Association; in 2010, that organization established the annual Christopher Z. Mooney Best Dissertation Prize in his honor.
