We invite all incoming graduate students to the New Graduate Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. This orientation will be virtual via Zoom.
The Orientation will provide information about important resources on campus and tips for successfully navigating graduate school at UIC. Presenters and student panelists will be available to answer questions and share their experiences. Information about CampusCare, Financial Resources, Campus Safety, Graduate Student Support Services, and more!

Is attendance at New Graduate Student Orientation mandatory?
No, it is not mandatory but highly encouraged. The orientation will provide information and answer questions you may have in one event. You do not need to attend this orientation to register for classes.
There are various orientations - which one should I prioritize?
You should prioritize these orientation(s) if they apply to you:
- If you are an International Student, plan to attend the Office of International Services orientation in the morning on Thursday, August 21. More information: https://ois.uic.edu/coming-to-uic/orientation/international-student-orientation/
- If you will be teaching in the Fall, please plan to attend the campus-wide TA Orientation in the afternoon on Thursday, August 21. Additional details can be found here: https://teaching.uic.edu/programs/campus-wide-new-ta-orientation/
