My research interests include institutions, policy, informality, governance, and resistance and contestation, within a comparative urban framework. I am a Ph.D. candidate currently completing my dissertation entitled, “Governing the ungovernable? Street vending in Chicago and Mumbai.” The dissertation aims to give us insight into comparable urban practices in seemingly divergent cities through the lens of street vending, and informality more generally. I received my B.A. in political science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and worked in Milwaukee as an AmeriCorps member and at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee before attending graduate school.
